2021-22 Region 2 Teacher of the Year - Kacie Hook

I teach for my students and my colleagues. Students, my kids, are one of the most enjoyable parts of teaching for me. I learn from my kids daily, and I love being their guide through their learning; academically, socially, and emotionally.

I also enjoy writing and teaching curriculum. Recently, I have been able to write Universal by Design units for my district with a focus on a blend of optimal teaching and learning experiences with Social Emotional Learning. I am able to implement this curriculum in the classroom and see the students respond and interact with its contents. 

I also love bringing the joy of teaching to my colleagues, as we collaborate in professional learning communities, in profession learning and in culture building activities. My passion for teaching students, and writing curriculum has allowed me to be a leader in my district.
